- Phil Griffin Florida Opportunity Scholarship -

The New England Gator Club® is joining other Gator Clubs to fund yearly a $2,500 Phil Griffin Florida Opportunity Scholarship (FOS). You support this cause with your club member fees, buying club t-shirts, raffle tickets, or any purchase from the club! In this way you are strengthening the Gator Nation.

The scholarship is named in honor of Phil Griffin a long time Gator and staff member of the University of Florida Alumni Association. Phil passed away unexpectedly while he was working on the development of this scholarship. Phil was a great resource and Gator!

- Florida Opportunity Scholars Program-

The University of Florida is encouraging Gator Club's to support FOS's, and the University of Florida Athletic Association is donating millions of dollars to pay for the continuation of the FOS program. The FOS Program is designed to ensure first-generation students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to have the resources they need to be academically successful at the UF. The goal of the program is to retain these students and have them graduate. The scholarships pay tuition, room and board for qualified students who are the first in their family to attend a four-year university and have family income less than $40,000. Go here to review the incredible stories of some current Florida Opportunity Scholars. The program is contributing to increasing the minority enrollment over the past year, and supports UF's diversity initiative.

Thank you for your support!
